Built in 1938, this home was built to “attract” a new doctor for the town/mill and soon became home to Dr. Moses McCall and his wife, Mary. Mrs.
McCall served as Acworth’s first female mayor in the 1950s.

Jan 29: FINALLY unpacked the LAST of the kitchen boxes! Just over 1 month after it was done, going on 3 months since packing it all up. Last hold out was the pantry, which we finished yesterday (with exception of last shelf we're waiting on 2 brackets for).
1st pic is August 2018, after Laundry was moved from under the stairs.
2nd pic is my boredom during pandemic, June 2020, shenanigans, where we really realized how useful the space could be
Then, Finally, NOW... with the Elfa shelving from the former red room, which is now the Laundry/Utility room, repurposed.
And, most importantly, Dante can still weather fort behind everything, he's already been back there and approved 😻😻😻

Jan 2: So final before (left/top) and after (right/bottom) pictures of kitchen. The existence of ventilation at all (there originally wasnt any other than window) and a non floating dishwasher has been game changing!
There's something about going from 11" counter to cabinet clearance, to 18" that is mind boggling. A complete game changer in appearing like kitchen is bigger as well!

Dec 16: Just over 5 weeks in and almost there! Robbie Perdue & Troy Giles and their crews have been amazing, as well as Truitt Custom Cabinets, Woody Cheek & Granite Countertop Warehouse, and Tomkris & Sons Plumbing LLC and The Tile Shop. It's coming together better than I expected, and my expectations were pretty high! 😂 I'm gonna need a special class on the new faucet though 😬🙃😂

Truitt Custom Cabinets did an AMAZING JOB! There is NO "standard" in old houses, so custom is absolutely best way to go!
