Happy Boss’s Day to the best director ever, Bekah!!! Bekah leads our organizations with so much compassion - for the kids and families we serve, for our volunteers, for our MDT members, and for our team. She works very hard behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly so we can do the work we do. We’re lucky to have you, Bekah! ❤️

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Children who witness domestic violence in the home are likely to experience emotional, physical, and social issues as soon as the event occurs. This is likely to affect their education, ability to have healthy relationships, and cause many psychological issues throughout adulthood. (According to the American SPCC)

If you see it, report it.

Join Us for Paint the Plaza Purple

The District 22 District Attorney’s Office, on behalf of the Pontotoc County Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT), invites the community to join us for the first-ever “Paint the Plaza Purple” community awareness event. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, from 5:30–8:00 p.m. at the Pontotoc County Courthouse Plaza in Ada.

Paint the Plaza Purple, organized by the Pontotoc County CCRT, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, is a family-friendly community event bringing people together to support victims and survivors, raise awareness about domestic violence, and connect individuals and families with local resources. Guests can enjoy food, activities, community fellowship, and an evening centered on hope, support, and encouragement.

The community will hear from local speakers, tribal partners, representatives from the District Attorney’s Office, and others who will share messages of awareness, support, and hope. We will close the evening with a special purple glow honoring victims and survivors, remembering those we have lost, and reminding our community that no one has to face domestic violence alone.

We invite you, your family, and your friends to join us as we Paint the Plaza Purple and stand together for hope, healing, and a safer community.
