The burn ban has been extended another 14 days to Oct 5th, at which time the ban will be reevaluated again at that time. The rain we had yesterday is not enough to offset the fire dangers associated with the amount of vegetative fuels present and our current drought condition.

Please note that the decision to extend the burn ban is not taken lightly. Our counties firefighters, Emergency Management, Sheriff, and County Commissioners understand the needs of the property owners however, given the extreme risks of a wildfire outbreak must consider the safety of the community as a whole.
