Hear ye, hear ye! The theme is here, and the applications are open! The Addison Historical Museum is excited to officially announce the theme of this year’s Addison-Medinah Shriner’s parade: America@250: Let Freedom Ring! The parade will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, lining up at Addison Trail High School and marching through Addison with notable appearances like the Jesse White Tumblers and the New Generation Drill Team. Alongside them will be the Honorary Grand Marshals, made up of the Addison Historical Commissioners and the Addison Historical Society Board Members who will be representing the museum that is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary on July 4, 2026.

They won’t be marching alone, however! If you’d like to join the parade, applications are now open until Friday, August 14, 2026! Any type of unit, including floats, bands, walking groups, vehicles, and more, can submit their desire to be a part of the parade using the application on the addisonadvantage.com website. Tuesday, June 9, marked a successful 9th annual Addison Uncorked fundraiser for the Addison Historical Society, Women's Club of Addison , and Addison Center for the Arts. The night featured a collection of alcoholic beverages provided by Lynfred Winery, Church St. Brewery, and Sal’s Beverage World, and a wonderful jazz and yacht rock performance by Chicago artist, Jane Allyson. Attendees also participated in the event’s famous “Split the Pot Raffle” in support of the three local charitable organizations as they enjoyed their night. With more than 60 attendees for a beautiful evening in the sun, the organizers are grateful for all of those who helped make this community event such a success, including participants and GreenState Credit Union with their generous sponsorship.

In the spirit of this Rock 'N Wheels season, let's take a moment to look at how much our community has grown!

Rock 'N Wheels began as a small motorcycle show, with music presented from the gazebo. Local bands performed, many for free, until we received enough community support to budget more funds.

In the past 15 years, we have hosted so many wonderful acts on our stage including some well-loved performances like Queensryche, Scott Stapp from Creed, Orianthi, Buckcherry, Soul Asylum, Los Lonely Boys, The Grass Roots, Ides of March, Kashmir, Big Suit, American English, Think Floyd USA, and many, many more!

We have also supported local restaurants as vendors through Rock 'N Wheels for years and given local non-profits a stage for the community. Rock 'N Wheels has become an Addison staple, and one we keep close to our hearts as a way to bring the community together.

Out of an abundance of caution, tonight's show will be cancelled. There is no date to reschedule. While the Village of Addison avoids cancelling shows whenever possible, holding them rain or shine, tonight's circumstances go beyond that. With multiple threats of severe weather being conveyed to us by the National Weather Service, including EF2 tornados, strings of severe thunder storms, and flooding, we do not want to risk putting any of you, any of our performers, or any of the wonderful people behind the scenes of the event in danger tonight. Stay safe, and stay inside. Thank you.
