The Addison Airport Toll Tunnel will be closed in both directions beginning today, Friday, October 16, at 9pm through Sunday, October 18, at 11pm for scheduled maintenance by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA).

During the closure, eastbound drivers will be detoured using Midway Road, Lindbergh Drive, and Addison Road before reconnecting with Keller Springs Road. Westbound drivers will use Addison Road, Sojourn Drive, and Midway Road before reconnecting with Keller Springs Road.

Message boards will be placed near the tunnel to notify drivers of the closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signs. All closures are weather permitting and may be postponed if necessary.

🌡 Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. Today marks the 51st anniversary of the line of duty death of Firefighter Stephen Webb.

Firefighter Webb joined the Addison Fire Department on May 1, 1975. Just a few months later, on October 7, 1975, at only 23 years old, he tragically lost his life while fighting a grass fire on Midway Road, when he stepped on a fallen power line and was fatally electrocuted.

More than half a century later, his courage and sacrifice remain etched in our department’s history. We honor his memory and the price he paid in service to our community.
