Big congratulations to Lt. Brent Behnken on graduating from the FBI National Academy!

This is a big deal. Only about 1% of law enforcement officers are selected to attend the National Academy, and Brent is only the third Dallas County Sheriff’s Office deputy ever to have that opportunity.

It’s a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of Brent’s leadership, dedication and commitment to the profession.

We’re proud of you, Brent. Now get back to work! 😉

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch is currently experiencing intermittent technical issues affecting our non-emergent administrative telephone lines.

Emergency 911 services are not affected and remain operational. We are currently working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We appreciate the public’s patience while repairs are being completed.

An update will be provided once the administrative lines have been fully restored.

The roundabout project south of Adel just wrapped up, which meant a major road closure, detours, and some temporary traffic lights.

The temporary lights came down this week, and we thought, “Well, that’s nice. Maybe we’re done with construction for a while.”

Apparently not. 😂

Beginning Monday, August 31, construction will begin on two new turn lanes into the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

The new turn lanes will make it safer and easier to get in and out of the Sheriff’s Office, but there will be some construction and traffic impacts around our entrance while the work is underway.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue making improvements to the area.

Please slow down, pay attention to the construction, and give yourself a little extra time when coming to the Sheriff’s Office.
