County Road 10 incident update.

Yesterday at approximately 4:40 PM, crews were dispatched to County Road 10 between Adena and Township Road 129 for an oil spill that caused the roadway to become hazardous, resulting in several vehicles sliding and the road being closed for several hours.

Upon arrival, crews discovered approximately five gallons of oil had spilled from a truck onto the roadway. Crews contacted the county for assistance with cleanup. Unfortunately, the five gallons of pea gravel provided were unsuccessful in cleaning up the spill.

Poppy’s Towing was contacted and responded with five vehicles, including a vacuum truck and a Bobcat, along with the manpower and equipment needed to successfully clean up the spill and get the roadway reopened.

A big thank-you to Josh and Poppy’s Towing for stepping up and assisting our crews in getting this spill cleaned up and the road safely reopened. We appreciate your help and support!

Please remember to secure all loads and ensure vehicles are safe for travel to help prevent incidents like this.
