It’s our LAST WEEK of the 2026 season at MidPoint Café & Route 66 Gift Shop! Come on out and enjoy one of our famous burgers or a slice of Ugly Pie before we close for the winter.

🎃 Our final Cafe day is Saturday, October 31, and we’re celebrating Halloween with one last CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY!
(Note we will be closing at 3pm on October 31)

🦆 We’re Getting Ducked Out on Route 66! 🦆

We’ve never carried rubber ducks at the MidPoint before, and honestly, we hadn’t planned to! 😂 But last month, our good friends Barb and George at Gary’s Gay Parita in Missouri asked if we would carry some Route 66 ducks and join their fun idea to “Get Ducked Out on Route 66.”

We thought Barb’s idea was just too much fun to pass up!

And just so there’s no confusion—we’re certainly not claiming or taking credit for anyone else’s idea. This was Barb’s idea, and she personally invited us to be part of it. We’re simply putting our own MidPoint spin on the fun. ❤️

So we asked Stephanie to create some original MidPoint Café ducks especially for us. There are also some great stickers being made to go along with them, and when you purchase one of our MidPoint ducks, you’ll receive a special MidPoint duck sticker, too! 🦆🛣️

Here’s a sneak peek at just some of the ducks coming to the MidPoint, along with the sticker you’ll receive with your duck.

We hope more Route 66 businesses join in on Barbs idea and help “Get Ducked Out on Route 66” grow all along the Mother Road. Gary has even said he would help other businesses creat a fun duck sticker like he did for us and Barb. Be sure to visit our good friends Barb and George when you travel through Missouri, and keep an eye out for other Route 66 businesses joining the fun.

🎬 SPECIAL HOURS TODAY! 🎬

The MidPoint Café will be closing at 2:00 PM today so Brenda and the crew can head to Amarillo for the Texas premiere of John Paget’s Route 66 documentary! ❤️🤍💙

The film has been getting rave reviews everywhere it’s been shown, and we’re excited that tonight it’s finally Texas’ turn!

Come out, support this wonderful Route 66 film—and come watch Brenda cry on the big screen! 😂🎥 (We’re pretty sure there won’t be a dry eye in the house!)

We apologize for any inconvenience our early closing may cause, and we hope you understand. Sometimes you just have to close up shop a little early to celebrate something this special for Route 66!

We’ve noticed and heard a little confusion lately surrounding a couple of similar Route 66 phrases, so we thought this would be a fun opportunity to share the story and meaning behind ours.

The MidPoint Café has been saying and using the slogan “When you’re here, you’re halfway there” for many many years, long before some of the similar phrases you may hear along the road today. And while the wording may sound similar, we think there’s something pretty special about the word “there.”

“You’re halfway there” feels like an accomplishment.

You’ve traveled half of Route 66. You’ve reached the official geographic midpoint of the Mother Road, and whether you’re headed east or west, you’re now continuing toward the other end.

“Halfway there” says: Look how far you’ve come.
It feels like an accomplishment—a milestone worth celebrating.

“Halfway between ” says: You still have half to go.
It feels like you’re in the middle of something that isn’t finished yet.

“Halfway done” says: Half of the job is finished.
It sounds more like completing a task, chore, or project than experiencing a journey

And that’s what makes “When you’re here, you’re halfway there” such a perfect fit for the MidPoint Café.

It has a wonderful Route 66 double meaning:

HERE is The MidPoint cafe in Adrian, Texas—the official midpoint of Route 66.

THERE is wherever your Route 66 adventure is taking you next towards Chicago or Santa Monica or wherever your journey is going.

It’s more than a catchy phrase to us. It celebrates reaching a special place on a very special journey.

So stop in, take that iconic midpoint photo, have a piece of pie, and celebrate just how far you’ve come.

We apologize to our travelers, but due to a staffing shortage, our grill will be closed today.

BUT — the Café and Gift Shop are still OPEN! ❤️

Brenda and Stephanie are here serving up our delicious homemade pies and desserts, so come on in, grab a slice, sit down, cool off, and take a break from that Texas heat! 🥧☀️

Our regular food menu just won’t be available today.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Sometimes you just have to roll with what the Mother Road gives you!

It’s already been a busy morning out here on Route 66! The gift shop is OPEN today, and Stephanie is here greeting travelers, so stop in, say hello, and do a little Route 66 shopping.
