Local hunters are already making a difference in the fight against hunger here in Lenawee County. Venison donations are beginning to arrive through Hunters Helping Lenawee, a program of the Lenawee Community Foundation that transforms the generosity of local hunters into meals for neighbors facing food insecurity.
By covering processing costs, Hunters Helping Lenawee provides lean, nutritious protein to nearly 20 food pantries and meal programs throughout Lenawee County. In 2025 alone, donated venison provided nearly 51,000 meals.
As another hunting season gets underway, thank you to the hunters, processors, donors, and community partners who make this program possible. Helping turn local generosity into meaningful nourishment for our neighbors, together.
