The best kind of hunting story doesn’t end with a filled tag. It ends with a family fed!

Here’s something worth bragging about! Over HALF of the game meat donations received so far this year by our Lincoln County processors, Salt River Meat Company and Star Valley Meat Block, have come from YOUTH HUNTERS!

These young hunters aren’t just filling tags. They’re filling freezers and helping feed Wyoming families through Food from the Field!

That’s a trophy worth celebrating! Thank you to the next generation of hunters for giving back!

Over the past 3 months, the Afton Food Pantry has been BLESSED with some incredible groups who have shown up, rolled up their sleeves, and gotten to WORK!

From sorting food and stocking shelves to unloading donations, organizing, cleaning, and everything in between, these groups have made a HUGE difference!

As an all-volunteer organization, we simply couldn't do what we do without people willing to give their time.

And one of our FAVORITE things? Watching young people learn the importance of serving others and giving back to their community! 🩵💛

To every group pictured, those we didn't manage to get a photo of, and everyone who has spent time serving alongside us—THANK YOU!

We have been loving the local product going out weekly at the Afton Food Pantry thanks to the Wyoming Forward Grant we were awarded by Wyoming Department of Family Services earlier this year.

Each week you’ll see Shumway Farms yogurt and milk, Squire Farms protein, Silver Stream Farm lettuce, and Salt River Ranch meats. These are Wyoming products going to Wyoming families. There is truly nothing better than that! 💛🩵

This grant ends next month but we are working to continue several of these relationships moving forward. We are so thankful to have been chosen for this opportunity and love what this has done for our patrons but also love supporting the local producers!

We’ll be open from 5 PM to 7 PM, ready to assist anyone in the upper valley facing food insecurity. If you or someone you know needs help putting food on the table, we’re here for you.

Every year, hundreds of amazing youth hit the streets collecting donations for our Fighting Hunger Games Food Drive! With so many homes to cover, sometimes a house gets accidentally missed. We promise it's never intentional!

If your donations don't get picked up, PLEASE don't think we don't want them! Every single donation matters, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity!

Thank you Star Valley Festival of Trees for helping us fight hunger!!!!

Four years ago, the Star Valley Festival of Trees began with a simple idea: bring our community together for the holidays and turn that generosity into meaningful support for our local food banks. 💖

Each year, our community has proven the power of shared generosity. In just three years, $69,276.09 has been donated to the Afton, Thayne, and Alpine food banks! 🎉🤯 And in 2026, we want to make an even greater impact!

Join us ✨ Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 (11am-8pm) ✨ for a magical weekend full of joy, Christmas wonder, and giving back. If you'd like to be a sponsor, reach out and one of our team members will visit with you. You can also help by decorating and donating a tree, gingerbread house, or just showing up!

A BIG THANK YOU to Star Valley Raft & Paddle!

We LOVE when businesses choose to DONATE instead of DISCARD!

After hosting a community river cleanup, Star Valley Raft and Paddle generously donated their leftover goodies to the Afton Food Pantry instead of letting them go to waste!

And let's just say… our high school volunteers were BEYOND thrilled when they discovered there were sweet treats waiting for them that day!

🌟 Star Valley Raft & Paddle is a NEWER business in Star Valley, and we love seeing a new business already making a difference in our community! From organizing river cleanups, teaching youth at their summer camps about water safety, and to supporting local nonprofits, they're showing what community spirit is all about!
