🎃 Town of Afton Halloween Safety Reminder 👻
The Town of Afton would like to remind all families planning to trick-or-treat in the Rockbridge Subdivision tomorrow evening to please park at Afton Elementary School and walk into the subdivision with your kids. Where possible, please use parking lots in other residential neighborhoods and walk with your kids. This helps keep neighborhood streets less congested and ensures a safer experience for everyone enjoying the festivities
Additionally, for anyone driving children around for trick-or-treating throughout Afton:
🚫 Parking on sidewalks is prohibited— this creates hazards for pedestrians and limits accessibility.
🚗 Be extra mindful of increased foot traffic and drive slowly through residential areas.
Let’s work together to keep our streets safe and our community safe!

PUBLIC NOTICE:

Town of Afton Building Official and Code Enforcement

The Town of Afton is pleased to welcome Jaymes De La Garza as the new Building Official and Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Afton as part of our continued effort to provide consistent, helpful, and responsive services to the Town of Afton.

The Building Official will assist residents, property owners, and contractors with building permits, plan reviews, construction questions, and Town code requirements. Residents may also see the Building Official throughout the community reviewing construction activity and
responding to questions or concerns. The Town’s approach is to focus on education, communication, and working cooperatively with property owners to address concerns and
achieve compliance where needed.

The Town is also establishing a building inspection program to accompany the existing building permit process, which is anticipated to be implemented within the next few months. The program will help ensure construction is completed safely and consistently with applicable building
standards.

The Town of Afton’s efforts with this position are intended to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community while providing clear guidance and support to residents, property owners, and contractors.

The Town appreciates the community’s cooperation and looks forward to providing an approachable, consistent, and proactive permitting and code compliance process.

From the Afton Police Department.

We all know community outreach and education has never been more important than it is currently here the Afton Police Department. We operate with the highest degree of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in all that we do--with each other, with our community, and with our fellow law enforcement agencies.

Businesses in the area with be visited by a gentleman named Jacob Lucas with LAW Publications and he will be in our area going from business to business to get sponsorships for our community safety program.

This program gets awareness information and material into the hands of school aged children and senior citizens to warn them of many different risks and dangers involved with drugs and also keep them informed on various other safety topics.
