⚓ R.D. Stethem Battalion – Drill Weekend! 🇺🇸

Our Sea Cadets had a productive drill weekend focused on physical fitness, military standards, and teamwork!

💪 Physical Readiness Test (PRT): Cadets completed their annual PRT, putting their strength, endurance, and determination to the test.

🎖️ Uniform & Grooming Standards: Cadets reviewed the importance of maintaining proper military appearance, uniform and hair standards, attention to detail, and professionalism.

🇺🇸 Close Order Drill: Cadets practiced marching movements as they prepare for the Remembrance Day Parade, reinforcing discipline, teamwork, and precision.

Another great weekend of developing leadership, building confidence, and instilling Navy core values!

The Cadets had a great time at the SRS 33 Trunk r Treat handing out candy and sharing the mission of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. They even acquired some potatoes. 😊

They also received 3rd place for their Spider-Man Trunk and rousing rendition of the Sailors Creed! Hooyah RD Stethem! Navy League of the United States, Honolulu Council

⚓️ Sea Cadets, Arriving! 🇺🇸

During our last drill, R.D. Stethem Battalion Sea Cadets had the incredible opportunity to tour the USS William P. Lawrence DDG-110, a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer.

Cadets explored the Bridge, Chief’s Mess, Wardroom, and various other spaces throughout the ship, gaining firsthand insight into life aboard a U.S. Navy warship.

This is just one of the many unique experiences the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps program offers! From exploring Navy ships to learning about naval operations, traditions, and leadership, our cadets get opportunities that bring the Navy to life beyond the classroom.

⚓🇺🇸 Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Navy! 🎂

Yesterday, our R.D. Stethem Battalion Sea Cadets celebrated 251 years of Navy tradition, honor, courage, and commitment with a traditional Navy birthday cake-cutting ceremony!

Keeping with time-honored naval tradition, our oldest and youngest participants joined together to cut the cake, symbolizing the passing of knowledge, experience, and heritage from one generation to the next.

We are proud to carry forward the Navy’s legacy and inspire the next generation of leaders!

🩸 STOP THE BLEED | R.D. Stethem Battalion Drill

Last weekend’s drill gave our cadets the opportunity to build critical, lifesaving skills through Stop the Bleed and Combat Life Saver training led by US Navy Chief Morales-Alarcon and LT Richter.

Cadets received hands-on instruction in the M.A.R.C.H. method, including proper tourniquet application and techniques for responding to life-threatening injuries.

Later in the drill, cadets put those skills into action by learning how to safely load and maneuver a medical litter and practicing lifesaving buddy carries to move an injured person to safety.

🇺🇸 2026 American Patriot Awards 🇺🇸

The R.D. Stethem Battalion Cadets were honored to attend and participate in the Navy League of the United States, Honolulu Council’s 2026 American Patriot Awards at the Hilton Hawaiian Village this past Saturday.

The American Patriot Awards recognize distinguished leaders and organizations whose service and contributions have strengthened our nation and our local community.

This year’s honorees were Admiral John C. Aquilino, USN (Ret.), former Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and Mr. Steve Colón, President of Hunt Development Group – Hawaii Division and Chairman of Hawaii’s Military Affairs Council.

We are incredibly grateful for opportunities like this that allow our Cadets to serve alongside our community, meet accomplished military and civic leaders, and see firsthand the values of service, leadership, and commitment that we strive to instill in every Cadet.

For 64 years, the Sea Cadets have been developing young people through leadership, teamwork, service, discipline, and adventure.

⚓ R.D. Stethem Battalion — Serving Our Community!

During drill last week, our Sea Cadets continued to demonstrate what service and leadership are all about.

Cadets assisted the Chiefs and Chief Selects from the Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC) at U.S. Pacific Command with volunteer projects around the Navy League of the United States, Honolulu Council office.

This was a great opportunity for our cadets to work alongside Navy leaders, give back to the community, and see firsthand the importance of service, teamwork, and leadership.

⚓ Growing the Next Generation of Leaders! 🇺🇸

Yesterday, R. D. Stethem Battalion had the opportunity to participate in Hickam Elementary School’s Meet & Greet/Back-to-School Fair, where we met so many wonderful students and families interested in learning more about the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

Our team did an outstanding job representing the program, sharing their experiences, answering questions, and giving prospective families a glimpse into the leadership, teamwork, discipline, and adventure that Sea Cadets has to offer.

A huge thank you to Hickam Elementary School for inviting us to be part of this great community event. We loved meeting everyone and hope to welcome some new faces to the R. D. Stethem Battalion very soon!

🇺🇸⚓ Congratulations to Hawaii’s two newest Sea Cadets! ⚓🇺🇸

Please join us in congratulating our newest R.D. Stethem Battalion cadets on their graduation from Recruit Training at Camp Williams in Bluffdale, Utah, on 18 July 2026!

Over the course of training, they were challenged both mentally and physically while learning military customs and courtesies, drill, teamwork, leadership, and the core values that define the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment have earned them the title of Sea Cadet.

We are incredibly proud of all they accomplished and can’t wait to see them continue to grow as leaders back here in Hawaii. Bravo Zulu to both of you on this outstanding achievement! ⚓ Navy League of the United States, Honolulu Council
