Aiken County Public Library The Aiken County Public Library is part of the ABBE Regional Library System and offers a variety of free services and programs for all ages.

The Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System exists to provide materials which communicate experience and ideas from one person to another. Its goal is to assemble, organize, preserve and make easily and freely available to all the residents of its service area the print and non-print materials that will assist them in their pursuit of education, information, research, culture, and lifelong learning.

All ages are invited to join us at the Aiken County Public Library on November 7, 2026 for free activities and presentations celebrating comics, graphic novels, cosplay, and pop culture, including local authors and special visitors, face painting, crafts, a scavenger hunt, cosplay contest, and more! There will be performances outside by the Aiken High School Band as well as PB' N Jam!

Come check out our STEM display on the 2nd floor! We are celebrating STEM activities and new juvenile STEM books provided by a grant the library recently received. The books are available for checkout on a cart next to the display.

The Aiken County Public Library was selected to represent the state of South Carolina as one of 110 libraries in our country to participate in a new program called Science Across America. This program showcases local scientific advances and scientists, engages our communities with focused Community Dialogues, and hosts educational and inspirational activities that shine a light on the past, present, and future of science in our lives.

One of our activities is inputting information on to a paper map in the library as well as an interactive world map online. Let us know what key moments in American science we should add to our state map—from landmark global breakthroughs to local innovations.
