Board of Trustees Statement on Pickle Road Water Quality Investigation

The Springfield Township Board of Trustees is aware of concerns regarding the potential impact of a historical landfill recently discovered on a parcel on Pickle Road and whether it may be affecting well water on surrounding properties.

At this time, the situation remains under investigation by the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA), the agencies with the authority and expertise to evaluate environmental and public health matters related to groundwater and drinking water quality.

As the investigation is ongoing, no final determinations have been made regarding any connection between the historical landfill and nearby private wells. The Township is working cooperatively with the appropriate state agencies and will continue to monitor developments closely.

We understand the concerns of residents and are committed to providing accurate information. Updates will be shared with the community as additional information becomes available and has been confirmed by the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio EPA.

The health, safety, and well-being of Springfield Township residents remain our highest priority.
