At this time 25 years ago, our country and the world changed forever.

25 years ago. 2,977 people woke up on a crisp, sunny morning just like today, not realizing that it would be their last.

25 years ago. 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 8 EMTs & Paramedics gave the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives to save another.

25 years ago. Countless lives would be altered forever, losing friends and loved ones.

9/11/2001. The day the world stopped turning. The days that followed proved that we could come together as a country, united in solidarity, loving and supporting one another, and healing in grief.

25 years later. We just continue to honor and remember all the lives lost that day, in New York City, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

25 years later. We continue to lose lives from the effects of 9/11 and being at Ground Zero, and we must continue to honor and remember their ultimate sacrifice as well.

25 years later. Take a moment today to reflect on that day if you remember it; teach your kids and grandkids what that day meant; use today as a reason to love one another, to remember that evil will never win, and to remember that we are still the greatest country on Earth.

25 years later. Choose hope, choose kindness, choose compassion, choose unity.

25 years later.
Keep the promise.
Always remember.
Never forget.

New Apparatus Spotlight!

The Newstead Fire Company is proud to introduce our newest addition to the fleet!

This versatile new apparatus is built on a Ford F-550 Crew Cab chassis, powered by a 7.3L Gas engine, and features a 10' rescue body.

Key Features & Capabilities:

Eco-CAF System: Equipped with a 60-gallon Eco CAF system capable of producing up to 1,200 gallons of Class A foam for rapid fire suppression.

Primary EMS Role: This truck will serve as our primary EMS response vehicle out of Station 1.

Vegetation & Grass Fires: It will be our dedicated unit for all vegetation and brush fires.

Trailer Transport: It is also equipped to tow the trailer carrying 5-1 directly to emergency scenes.

Funding & Acknowledgments:

The majority of the cost for this new truck was generously covered by a grant we received, significantly lessening the impact on our community while providing us with essential upgrade capabilities.

We purchased the truck from Colden, with the custom rescue body built by Ward Fire Apparatus.

A special thank you goes out to VSP for the fantastic job on the graphics package, and a massive thank you to the Newstead Fire Company truck committee for their tireless work, research, and dedication throughout the entire process of acquiring this new piece of apparatus.

Stop by and take a look at our newest tool to help keep the Town of Newstead safe!
