Today, your Alameda Firefighters stood together on the Capitol steps in Sacramento to support **AB 1383** and the fight for a fair and secure retirement for firefighters.

We dedicate our careers to protecting our communities, answering the call when others need us most, and putting our lives on the line. We’re now asking our elected leaders to recognize that service and help ensure first responders in California retire happy, healthy, and safely.

Thank you to every Local 689 member who showed up, stood strong, and made their voice heard.

Vella has consistently demonstrated a commitment to public safety, supporting the resources, staffing, and investments needed to help firefighters, paramedics, and first responders protect our community. She understands that strong public safety starts with ensuring emergency personnel have the tools and support they need to respond quickly and effectively.

We’re proud to support a candidate who values collaboration, preparedness, and the safety and well-being of everyone in Alameda.
