ATTENTION: Road Closure on South River Road Near County Line, October 26
Alamosa County Road and Bridge is planning to install a culvert on the South River Road Monday October 26th, roughly two miles North of the Alamosa Conejos County Line. Traffic coming from the South will need to detour onto County Road 15. Traffic going South will need to use US Highway 285 as there is no other option for a detour from the South River Road. The plan is to install the culvert on Monday and reopen the road at the end of the day.

Leaving military service involves more than receiving a DD214.

Before separation or retirement, it can help to review several veteran benefit areas while records and military contacts are still easier to access.

That may include disability claims, VA health-care enrollment, education benefits, life-insurance decisions, employment resources, service treatment records, dependent information, and copies of important military documents.

Some VA programs and transition options may have deadlines or work differently before and after separation.

The Alamosa County Veterans Service Office can help explain general VA benefit information and identify official resources for transitioning service members and their families.

Do not wait until records are difficult to locate before making your own copies.

Attention: East Alamosa Water and Sanitation District customers may be seeing reddish-brown water. This is due to the waterline system flushing. This creates a turbulence in the water lines of existing sediments. Just run your cold water for several minutes for the water to clear. If this does not clear up please contact District office at 719-589-2649 so that they may send out maintenance personnel.
