🐾❤️ In Loving Memory of Elwood (2013–2026) ❤️🐾

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a very special member of the Engine Co. 3 family.

Last evening, our beloved Elwood crossed the Rainbow Bridge following a sudden illness.

Elwood wasn’t a firefighter, but he was every bit a member of Engine Co. 3. As our resident pug, he brought a special kind of warmth, personality, and unconditional love to the museum. He may have been small in stature, but his presence was larger than life.

Whether he was supervising activities, greeting visitors, or simply keeping us company, Elwood had a way of making everyone smile. He never needed a helmet or turnout gear to be part of the crew. He belonged here, and he knew it.

The museum won’t quite feel the same without him. His little paws may no longer walk our floors, but the memories and love he leaves behind will always be part of Engine Co. 3.

Elwood, thank you for the smiles, the companionship, and the unconditional love. Your watch is over, little buddy. We’ll take it from here.

Rest easy, Elwood. Until we meet again. ❤️🐾

Forever a member of Engine Co. 3. Never forgotten.

🚒 THREE YEARS AGO TODAY… A VISION WAS TAKING SHAPE! 🚒

October 15, 2023 — Three years ago today, Engine Co. 3 was little more than an empty building with exposed walls, newly installed electrical wiring, and garage doors. But we had a vision of what it could become.

Fast forward to today, and that once-empty space has been transformed into something truly special.

What started as a place to preserve our 1984 Mack CF Engine 3 has grown into a fire service museum filled with history, memories, and artifacts that tell the story of the fire service through the years.

Today, the museum is home to an ever-growing collection of historic firefighting equipment, photographs, memorabilia, and displays honoring the men and women who have served their communities.

It’s amazing to look back at these photos and see just how far we’ve come in three short years. Countless hours of hard work, dedication, and a passion for fire service history have turned an idea into a reality.

And the best part? We’re just getting started!

Thank you to everyone who has supported Engine Co. 3, donated artifacts, shared stories, or helped bring this vision to life.

❤️ Preserving the Past. Educating the Future.

🚒 Engine Co 3 at the C.R.A.F.T. Muster! 🚒

We’re excited to be attending today’s C.R.A.F.T. Muster at Ichabod Crane High School!

Unfortunately, our beloved 1984 Mack CF, Engine 3, couldn’t make the trip this year as we’re still awaiting some necessary repairs to get her back on the road.

While we’re disappointed we couldn’t bring the old girl along, we’re happy to be here supporting this great event, catching up with fellow fire apparatus enthusiasts, and celebrating the history and traditions of the fire service.

There’s nothing quite like seeing these historic rigs and the people who work so hard to preserve them!

🚒 Engine 3 may be sitting this one out, but the Engine Co 3 crew is here and enjoying the day!

🐾❤️ Lt. Amelia has an important message for everyone! ❤️🐾

You never know when you might be the person someone is counting on.

Lt. Amelia and all of us at Engine Co. 3 encourage everyone to take the time to learn CPR and how to use an AED.

Cardiac emergencies can happen anywhere — at home, at work, at a family gathering, or out in the community. Knowing what to do in those first critical minutes can make all the difference.

❤️ Learn CPR.
⚡ Learn how to use an AED.
🐾 Be ready to help.

It’s a skill we hope you’ll never need — but someday, you could save a life.

Lt. Amelia’s orders! 🐾🚒
