Earlier this month, we had the privilege of dedicating the home of one of Flint River Habitat for Humanity's newest homeowners!

This milestone represents years of hard work and determination. Our homeowner completed 300 hours of sweat equity, faithfully serving alongside our team at our ReStores. She also completed every step of our Homeownership Program, including financial education, budgeting classes, and a first-time homebuyer course, preparing herself for the responsibilities and blessings of homeownership. She has been an incredible partner to Habitat, and it has been a privilege to walk alongside her as she achieved this dream.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was seeing a framed photo of her mother, who had always encouraged her dream of becoming a homeowner. Although her mother passed away before this day arrived, her love and encouragement were present in every part of the celebration—a beautiful reminder that dreams often begin with someone who believes in us.

A special thank you to Phoebe Putney Health System for generously donating the lot for this home and for their continued partnership with Habitat. We are especially grateful to Scott Steiner, President & CEO of Phoebe, for joining us at the dedication and warmly welcoming our homeowner and her family to the neighborhood.

Thank you to P&G for providing a thoughtful welcome basket filled with household essentials to help our homeowner settle into this exciting new chapter.

And to everyone who shops, donates, and volunteers at both of our Habitat ReStore locations—thank you. Every donation received, every purchase made, and every hour volunteered helps support Flint River Habitat's Homeownership Program and makes stories like this possible. Together, you're not just funding the construction of houses; you're helping families build brighter futures through safe, affordable homeownership.

Congratulations to our newest Habitat homeowner! We are honored to have been part of your journey, and we can't wait to see all that lies ahead.
