We had an absolute blast soaking up raptor wisdom from Dianne, a raptor educator specialist from Hoo's Woods Raptor Center. Last Saturday, she swooped in with FOUR live raptors (we were only expecting three) and a nest full of fascinating facts, turning us into instant fans of these awe-inspiring predators! Thank you, Dianne and Hoo's Woods Raptor Center, for providing us with an enjoyable and informative hour!

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the member of the Friends of the Library group whose generous donation made this event possible.

Join All Booked Up in a discussion of "Apostle's Cove" by William Kent Krueger on October 26th at 6:30 p.m.

"Apostle's Cove" is a riveting and reflective story that delves into the conflict between institutional closure and genuine moral justice through Cork O'Connor's quest to rectify a 25-year-old error, highlighting how official systems often opt for the simplest narrative over the truth.

The preschoolers at Albertson Memorial Library’s Preschool Story Time heard about baby birds learning to fly this week: Fly (by Teague), a wordless book, tells about a baby bird’s relationship with his mother as she feeds him and takes care of him and teaches him to fly. The penguin in Flight School (by Judge) takes lessons in flying and eventually brings his friend the ostrich to take flying lessons as well! Unflappable (by Ward) encourages resiliency and persistence in undertaking difficult tasks. The preschoolers then traced circles and cut them out making flightless birds that rocked. They used the pages from a discarded book for wings, practicing their accordion folding skills. They did such a great job!
