On October 7, the Henry Johnson Battalion held its first unit competition of the school year, testing cadets on their knowledge and ex*****on of drill movements. Cadets were evaluated individually by their leaders, with their performance contributing to their platoon’s overall standing in the quarterly unit competition.

On Oct. 3, our cadets proudly took part in Albany High School’s Homecoming celebration, representing the Henry Johnson Battalion. Cadets followed the parade route around the school, marching alongside fellow students and staff while showing their pride and dedication to the battalion. We’re proud of our cadets for coming together and representing JROTC during this memorable Homecoming celebration!

On September 23, our cadets stepped up to welcome and assist parents as they toured the school and visited their students’ classrooms during open house, while also giving a warm introduction to what JROTC has to offer.

On September 12, Our cadets proudly represented the Henry Johnson Battalion in a remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost and the heroes who served during the events of September 11, 2001.

The Albany High School JROTC Color Guard had the honor of participating in this ceremony as we came together to remember those who were lost and recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day.

Pt 2 of Promotion Night

The Albany High School Sgt. Henry Johnson Battalion held its annual Promotion and Awards Night on June 8, 2026, recognizing the accomplishments, leadership, and dedication of its cadets throughout the year.

The ceremony celebrated one of the largest graduating classes in battalion history while also welcoming a new generation of leaders. Congratulations to our new Battalion Commander, C/LTC Claudia Corradino, who officially took command of the Henry Johnson Battalion.

Cadets were recognized with a variety of awards and honors, including Cadet of the Year, awarded to Jason Martinez for his outstanding leadership, and commitment to the battalion.

We also proudly recognized our ROTC Scholarship recipients, Nick Hartman, who will attend Syracuse University, and Bilal Jamakzai, who earned a scholarship to Siena College.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients, promoted cadets, graduating seniors, and families. Thank you for another successful year of leadership, service, and excellence

On Sunday May 17th, Albany High School JROTC cadets from the Henry Johnson Battalion had the distinct honor of serving as the color guard at Maria College’s graduation ceremony. The cadets presented the colors, contributing to a meaningful and memorable celebration of achievement. They also received Dunkin’ gift cards and commemorative challenge coins.
