Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Constitution Day celebration with the Daughters of the American Revolution. This annual event commemorates the anniversary of the adoption and signing of the United States Constitution.

The celebration at the Charters of Freedom near Albemarle City Hall included Boy Scout Troop 82 presenting the flag and leading the Pledge of Allegiance. We also enjoyed special musical performances by the Albemarle High School Band and the Millingport 4th & 5th Grade Choir.

Speakers included Joan Eudy with the Daughters of the American Revolution and Bain Jones, the Chairman of the America 250 NC Stanly County Committee.

To close the event, the Daughters of the American Revolution led the ringing of the bells, honoring the moment in 1787 when Philadelphia’s church bells rang out in celebration of the Constitution’s signing.
