πŸŽ“ College Application Week is HERE! October 19–25!

Attention, high school seniors! Your next chapter is calling, and this week is a great opportunity to take that next step!

During North Carolina's College Application Week, select colleges and universities are waiving application fees, making it easier (and more affordable!) to explore your options and apply.

πŸ’° And don't forget! The 2027–28 FAFSA is now open, giving students an opportunity to apply for financial aid to help make college more affordable.

Don't miss this opportunity to invest in your future!

πŸ‘‡ Check out the full article and list of participating colleges to see where you can apply for FREE!

πŸš’πŸ”₯ Hands-On Training in Action at Albemarle High School!

Things got a little smoky this morning as students in our Fire Tech I & II classes put their skills to the test during a simulated search and rescue exercise!

With a building filled with smoke, students practiced navigating through low-visibility conditions, conducting building searches, and applying critical rescue techniques.

Real-world experiences like these build confidence, teamwork, and the skills needed to prepare our future first responders! πŸ‘

🌱🌼 We Are Growing Something Special at our Stanly Academy Learning Center!

Yesterday, students at Stanly Academy Learning Center rolled up their sleeves and embarked on Phase 1 of creating a vibrant new Outdoor Learning Space!

With the help of Heidi Jacobi and team from Pops and Family Plant Nursery, community volunteers and our Stanly County Schools Technology Department, students began transforming a quiet landscape into a beautiful, color-filled garden that will serve as a living classroom!

Outdoor learning goes beyond the four walls of a classroom, providing hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, strengthen academic engagement, promote well-being, and encourage a lifelong appreciation for our environment.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life! We can't wait to watch this space, and the opportunities it creates for our students, continue to grow! 🌻

🏑 Little Voices, Big Ideas for Albemarle’s Future!

What do you want your community to look like when you grow up? Our students at East Albemarle Elementary had the opportunity to think BIG during a special visit from the City of Albemarle Planning staff on Tuesday!

As part of Envision Albemarle 2045, students explored how community planning shapes the places around themβ€”from parks and playgrounds to neighborhoods, streets, businesses, and green spaces.

Through conversations focused on Community Planning and Youth Engagement, students were encouraged to imagine the Albemarle they hope to grow up in. They'll also have the optional opportunity to bring those ideas to life through the β€œDraw the Albemarle You Want to Grow Up In” activity.

A special thank you to the City of Albemarle - City Government Planning Staff for reminding our students that their ideas matter and that even our youngest voices can help shape the future of our community! πŸ’™
