One bad actor. Hundreds of complaints. These are not city crews. These are private companies. The city of Albuquerque wants fiber to expand broadband access across the city but with respect to our residents. Companies looking to install fiber using utility pole easements need to obtain permits from the proper utility companies, but we hope those fiber companies can follow the proper rules and regulations and work with homeowners for their permission to access their back yards. The city will hold those bad actors accountable for the pain they cause neighbors. Report concerns to 311. We also want you to be aware of a new ordinance being voted on at city council Wednesday, September 9, which will ease regulations on these fiber companies and allow them more access to your property.
