On Saturday, September 19, MDC participated in the Metro 2 First Responder Relay, a 68.4-mile relay from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. The race honors the memory of Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Undersheriff Larry Koren, Lieutenant Fred Beers, Deputy Michael Levison, and BCFR Rescue Specialist Matthew King who lost their lives in the Metro 2 helicopter crash near Las Vegas, NM in 2022. MDC was honored to participate alongside our fellow first responder, public safety, and healthcare partners in remembrance of those lost aboard Metro 2.

Thank you Storehouse NM for the opportunity to serve our community!

Being a corrections officer is answering a call to become a public servant. Our staff serve our community day in and out, and are always grateful for the opportunity to give back outside MDC’s walls!
