Steelbridge Building stronger futures, one person at a time. Ready to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? Transforming lives through the power of God's love.

We live out this mission by sharing the hope and love of Christ while meeting basic needs and offering long-term solutions that empower people toward a more stable future. Since 1954, we have been a source of hope for our neighbors in crisis: the addicted, homeless, hungry, and abused. We provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, residential programs, and other resources that offer men and women the opportunity to transform their lives. We receive $0 in government funding. Everything we do is because of the generosity of people like you. Food Boxes - We will disturb non-perishable food boxes for low-income families from 8 am - 4 pm on Monday - Thursday. At our Resource Center located at: 2021 SECOND STREET NW | ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87102

Meet our Women’s Team! 🤍

Natellia, our Women’s Program Manager, helps oversee daily activities, keeps the program running smoothly, and supports the women as they grow in their recovery.

Janelle and Leticia, our Resident Assistants, help classes run smoothly, keep the ladies on schedule, and encourage accountability. They lead with compassion and support the women alongside them.

We’re grateful for the care and dedication these three bring to Steelbridge!

“I am truly abundant. Thank you, Steelbridge.”
— Gabrielle, Steelbridge Resident

For more than 70 years, the heart of Steelbridge has been the people who walk through our doors—their courage, their recovery and the futures they’re working toward.

In this month’s From the Desk of the Executive Director, we reflect on the stories behind those years and the belief that continues to guide us: every person has a story worth fighting for.

For 14 years, Barbara Gunderlach opened the Bible with Steelbridge residents—and helped them build a foundation in Christ.

Blunt, compassionate and never one to sugarcoat the truth, Barbara taught with a love that stayed with people long after they left her classroom. And if you knew her, you can probably still hear her saying, “Should’ve had a V8!”

This month, we remember a beloved teacher whose faithfulness continues to touch the lives she helped shape.

“Jesus, just give me one more day.”

At just 21, his drinking had nearly cost him his life. When his family intervened, he made a choice that brought him to Steelbridge—and opened the door to a new beginning.

Four months into recovery, he’s taking on leadership responsibilities, preparing for college and imagining a future he once wasn’t sure he would live to see.

Through faith, support and the daily decision to keep going, he’s finding hope. And the place he once resisted has become the place he calls home.

Read his full story on our blog and discover what “one more day” means to him.
