For over three decades, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) has served our community as the only health care organization in Central New Mexico dedicated exclusively to providing services to homeless people. AHCH provides critical services to over 7,000 men, women and children every year. By addressing the health-related causes of homelessness, AHCH makes it possible for people to find solutions to end their homelessness.

๐Ÿ‘ โค๏ธ RED DRESS RUN 2026! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

This year, weโ€™re putting the fun in fundraiser! The Albuquerque Red Dress Run is supporting Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, helping us lead boldly, create exceptional health care experiences, and raise voices to end homelessness.

Your registration and donations directly support AHCH's workโ€”and we'll have our very own party shirts to give the first 80 supporters! ๐Ÿ™Œ

And because no Red Dress Run is complete without a little fabulousness, the Hash House Harriers are bringing:
๐ŸŽถ Good music
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ A raffle
๐Ÿ‘— A Most Fabulous Runner fashion contest
๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ A whole lot of red-dress ridiculousness

Come run, walk, dance, dress outrageously, and have a good time for a great cause. โค๏ธ

โ˜€๏ธ ONE WEEK AWAY!

Next Thursday, weโ€™re back at for the second conversation in our Heat, Health, & Homelessness Community Learning Seriesโ€”and this time, weโ€™re talking about Heat & Homeless Mortality.

People experiencing homelessness die yearsโ€”even decadesโ€”earlier than the general population, and many of those deaths are preventable. Extreme heat can make those risks even greater.

Join us for a conversation about:
โ˜€๏ธ Extreme heat & health
๐Ÿ  Homelessness as a public health crisis
โค๏ธ Preventable mortality
๐Ÿค What health care, outreach, housing, public health, and communities can do together

Our featured speaker is Rachel Biggs, CEO of Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless and Chair of the National Homeless Mortality Task Force.

Sheโ€™ll be joined by:
Liz Parsons, RN, BSN, Community Health Nurse at First Nations Community HealthSource
Oakley Quinn Blasdel, RN-BSN, CARN, AHCH Staff Nurse & Community Health Worker Coordinator

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ And yes, there will be a raffle! Make sure you sign in and grab your ticket when you arrive.

Most importantly: bring a friend. This series is about more than learningโ€”weโ€™re building a community of people ready to connect, advocate, and take action for healthier, safer communities.

Learn more about the speakers and conversation on our blog โ†’ https://www.abqhch.org/heat-homeless-mortality/

And a huge thank you to Flock of Moons Brewing Company for hosting us and continuing to create space for these conversations. ๐Ÿ’œ

AHCH is excited to launch our new Heat, Health, & Homelessness Community Learning Series, a community forum designed to solve community issues that impact our health

Huge thank you to all of our donors, partners, and community members who showed up for this yearโ€™s Point-in-Time Count! ๐Ÿ™Œ

We had an incredible turnout, and it was inspiring to see so many of you engaged in documenting the realities of homelessness across New Mexico. The PIT Count isnโ€™t just a federal requirement โ€” it helps shape funding, policy, and resources in our communities.

We were also grateful to host reporters from the Santa Fe New Mexican, who captured the behind-the-scenes work of the count and clarified what the PIT is โ€” and isnโ€™t.
