The Bernalillo County Board of County Commissioners reviewed four potential models Wednesday night for the future delivery of healthcare services at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) to ensure individuals in custody have access to quality care while maintaining transparency, fiscal responsibility, and public trust.

The discussion is part of the county’s larger efforts to improve health and public safety outcomes, including initiatives aimed at expanding treatment access for detainees, supporting recovery and re-entry, and ensuring accountability for results.

Commissioners are scheduled to take a final vote on a preferred healthcare delivery model at the Oct. 27 Board of County Commissioners meeting.
