π Landing Zone Safety Training in Alburgh! π
Last night, members of Alburgh Rescue, Alburgh Fire Department, Isle La Motte Fire Department, and two Federal law enforcement agencies came together for a Landing Zone Safety Course with UVM HealthNet.
During the training, we had the opportunity to deploy a landing zone kit generously donated to Alburgh Rescue by UVM HealthNet. Weβre grateful for their support and for helping us improve our readiness and safety when working alongside their flight crews.
Key takeaways from the training:
Flight time from Burlington to Alburgh is approximately 12β15 minutes, depending on weather conditions.
π₯ UVM HealthNetβs critical care team provides advanced care comparable to what a patient would receive in a hospital emergency department. As our instructor explained, βItβs like bringing the hospital to your patient.β
This level of care can make a tremendous difference in patient treatment, outcomes, and recovery.
Last night, we witnessed firsthand just how quickly the helicopter can reach Alburgh. That rapid response, combined with the expertise of the critical care team and strong coordination between our local agencies, is a real game changer for patient care in our community.
A big thank you to UVM HealthNet for the training, the donated equipment, and their continued partnership. Thank you as well to all the agencies that participated!
Training together. Working together. Better care for our community. ππ
