The K-3rd grade After School Program put their knowledge to the test as contestants on the game show, Build that Burger. What do we call someone who has a cow farm? Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? What is mustard made from?

Something mysterious is happening on our library wall… and it’s NOT a new book display! 😱

Meet our newest library resident: THE BOOK MONSTER! So far, his eyes, mouth, horns, and eyebrows have popped through the wall… but this is just the beginning! 👀 More of our monstrous friend will emerge next year, but before he gets any bigger, he needs something VERY important…

A NAME! 🎉

Today, our K–3rd After School Program learned all about pollinators! We discovered that some pollinators, like bats and hummingbirds, call Iowa home, while others, like chocolate midges, live in other parts of the world.

Then, we transformed into a hungry bear and ran away from the honey bees like in our story. Next we became pollinators ourselves! The students buzzed from flower to flower, collecting pollen to bring back and fill their hives.
