🚗 YOUR BLINKER ISN’T A SECRET. 😉
Consider this your friendly reminder that turn signals are not optional accessories.

They’re how you let everyone else know what you’re about to do before you do it.

Using your turn signal helps:
➡️ Other drivers know when you’re turning or changing lanes
🚶 Pedestrians know what to expect
🚴 Cyclists and others on the road react safely
🚔 Traffic flow stay smoother and safer for everyone

A few quick reminders:
● Signal before turning or changing lanes
● Give it enough time for others to react
● Don’t wait until you’re already moving to turn it on
● And yes… use it even if you think nobody is around 👀

Your blinker is a communication tool, not a mystery button.
A little signal goes a long way. Drive safe, Aledo!

We had some very special visitors at the Aledo Police Department!

Meet Emmie!👮‍♀️

With Halloween just around the corner, Emmie already knows exactly what she wants to be. A police officer!

When asked why she wanted to be a police officer, her answer was simple: “Because police officers keep people safe.” 💙

So, of course, we had to give her and her siblings the full experience! They got a tour of the police department, received some swag, checked out one of our patrol vehicles, and even got a bonus look at a police motorcycle that happened to be on-site for training!

And judging by those sergeant stripes on her sleeves, she’s already outranking most of us! 😂

Thank you to Emmie and her siblings for stopping by! We had just as much fun as they did.

It’s little moments like these that make community policing so special.

UPDATE: The train has moved and the railroad crossing is now clear. Traffic on FM 1187 should begin returning to normal.

🚨TRAFFIC ALERT – RAILROAD CROSSING BLOCKED🚨

We are aware of a train currently stopped and blocking the railroad crossing, impacting both northbound and southbound traffic on FM 1187.

We have contacted Union Pacific and are working with them to determine the cause of the delay and get the train moving as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please avoid the area and use an alternate route if possible.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and will provide an update when the crossing is clear.

What a great night! 💙

National Night Out gave us a chance to spend time with our community, have some laughs, meet new faces, and let people get to know the people behind the badge.

We were also proud to share the evening with our neighboring agencies for the inaugural East Parker County National Night Out. A special thanks to Willow Park PD for helping bring the idea together and getting our agencies and communities in one place for the night.

Strong partnerships matter, and we’re grateful to work alongside agencies that share the same commitment to serving our communities.

Thank you to The District for hosting us and to everyone who came out and made the night such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🚔🤝
