The Illinois Department of Transportation District 2 will be holding an open house for individuals interested in applying for seasonal positions to help with snow and ice removal in Rock Island and Henry counties. The event will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Milan Maintenance Yard, 4128 69th Ave.

Statewide Temporary Snow Removal positions are now open for the 2026–2027 snow and ice season! Help maintain and repair roads, bridges, and more—keeping Illinois moving safely this winter.

📌 Requirements:
✔️ High school diploma or equivalent
✔️ CDL Class B with N or X endorsement (Class A required by year 3)
✔️ One year of clean driving record

I'm always impressed by the hard work, dedication, and discipline shown by our 4-H kids and their families at every fair I attend. I was disappointed to miss this year's McDonough County 4-H Fair, but I'm grateful Annie from my team was there to represent my office and cheer on these outstanding young people. Congratulations to everyone who participated, and thank you to the volunteers, parents, and supporters who make it all possible!
