A couple of our Telecommunicators were able to attend the TENA Conference recently in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where they were able to connect with other professionals, exchange ideas, and explore new approaches and best practices to bring back to Rapides Parish 911/ OEP

This is a long, but good read… it explains very well how things work @ Rapides Parish 911/ OEP
Telecommunicators may be the voice you don’t see, but there’s a whole lot happening behind those headsets.

Last week, we hosted an APCO Fire Service class for employees of the Alexandria Fire Department and the Rapides 911 Center.

The course covered a variety of essential topics, including communications, hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents, Incident Command System (ICS), and the proper use of fire apparatus and equipment.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Echo Fire Department for taking the time to demonstrate their equipment and provide participants with an opportunity to tour and learn about their tanker truck. Their support and willingness to share their knowledge greatly enhanced the training experience.

We appreciate everyone who participated and contributed to making the class a success. 🚒🔥

Brother Keith Dickens stopped by today for a visit, and to provide a copy of his book for our staff - The Shepherd’s Book part 1 and 2.
Thank you for remembering us, Sir…it was our pleasure to visit with you.

It was an honor to present complimentary copies of The Shepherd’s Book, Parts 1 & 2, written by Dr. Keith Dickens, to Rapides Parish 911 Operations Manager Jeff Michiels and Assistant Director Sherry Ledington. We can’t imagine the situations they face and calls they receive.

HOWchurch and Dr. Keith Dickens are grateful for our first responders and community leaders. This book was written to help first responders and pastors serve the people they lead and navigate the situations they face each day.

Thank you for your sacrifice, leadership, and faithful service. We pray God’s continued blessings over you and your families!

First responders and pastors who would like a free digital copy may email [email protected].
