Happy Sunday Majors!

It may be hard to believe but the end of the 1st quarter grading period is Friday October 30th. Teachers will be submitting grades for the 1st quarter marking period during the first week of November. Take a moment to review your StudentVUE account for the details.

Here is the schedule for the week of October 19 through October 23rd. For our seniors, Virginia College Application Week activities begin tomorrow! Be sure to sign up for upcoming College visits and information sessions to begin your preparations for life after Mount Vernon. Stop by for more information.

Hard work pays off! šŸ†šŸ†

This past Saturday (October 10th) our MCJROTC Raider Team kicked off the season strong at their first Raider Physical Fitness Competitionā€”bringing home TWO trophies!

Since last school year, these dedicated cadets have been putting in the work before sunriseā€”arriving to school at 6:30am for their Physical Training (PT) sessions every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Lead by Cadet Second Lieutenant David Jeffries, their exceptional discipline, teamwork, and leadership were on full display throughout the competition.

The held its Blood Drive at MVHS today. Members of the student body, staff and community stopped in to donate. Student volunteers provided immediate support during the check-in process and helped to ensure student donors were safely escorted back to class.

Here is the schedule for the week of October 12th through 16th. If you didn't know, it's a three day weekend as tomorrow is a student holiday due to teacher planning.

The end of the 1st quarter is coming quickly. Be sure to check your StudentVUE account for current grades and any missing work.

Their objective - take pictures of the art pieces which resonated in them and answer questions based on their analysis and interpretations. Good afternoon Majors!

Reminder - tomorrow all 10th & 11th graders will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT Merit Scholarship Qualifying Exam and all pre-registered Seniors will be participating in the SAT School Day. All testers should will need their FCPS school laptop for the day. Be sure it is fully charged.

MVHS will be on a 2 hour early release schedule with dismissal scheduled for 12:55 pm. All academy classes and shuttles will be canceled due to testing. Grab and Go Lunches will be available at the end of the day before dismissal.

All 9th grade students and any seniors who did not sign up for the SAT do not have to report for the day.
