Alexandria Seaport Foundation Seaport provides career, education, and life skills to young people, ages 18-23, who need direction.

Our Vision: a community where people reach their full potential as self-sufficient, confident, knowledgeable, skilled, and productive members of society. Our Mission: The Alexandria Seaport Foundation provides career, education, and life skills to young people who need direction and support. Using social-emotional supports, the craft of traditional boat building, and a workforce curriculum, we give youth a safe-haven where they heal, learn, and grow into healthy adults.

Our very own Leela won the Junior Sailor Award at The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race! Well Done!

Leela is pictured here (in her bright pink jacket, holding her award) with all the Apprentices who sailed in the race down the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore to Norfolk. We are grateful for amazing opportunities like this for our young people to step out of their comfort zone and learn about maritime job opportunities!
