A huge and heartfelt thank you to Alexandria Celebrates Women, our newest Insert Coin Sponsor for supporting this event in honor of Suzanne “Suzie” Kratzok, Living Legend and former leader of the Fund for Alexandria’s Child. The Fund is excited to honor Suzie as the Fund's Most Legendary Player!

This all volunteer organization has long been a champion for Alexandria — raising critical funds for the Domestic Violence Safehouse and celebrating the women who shape our city’s past, present, and future.

Their support of the Fund has always been rooted in compassion and a shared belief in creating safer, stronger futures for families.

Having them join us as an Insert Coin Sponsor means so much, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership, their heart, and the love they pour into this city.

Thank you, Alexandria Celebrates Women, for powering up this mission with us.

A huge thank you to EN Comics — our newest Power Up Partner! https://www.en-comics.com/

EN Comics is an online comic book store built by a lifelong collector who understands how meaningful it is to find the right story at the right time. They offer everything from brand new releases to those older treasures that help fans build the collections they love.

Their support of our event is more than sponsorship — it’s a reminder of how creativity, kindness, and community can come together to lift up Alexandria’s kids. When partners like EN Comics join us, they help fuel the joy, hope, and connection that make this fundraiser so special.

We’re truly grateful to have them powering up this mission with us.

A huge thank you to Curcio Law for powering up The Fund as one of our event sponsors for our Retro Arcade Fundraiser at Continues on September 24!

We first connected with the Curcio team through a national initiative where firms across the country stuffed duffel bags or backpacks with essentials for children in foster care. Since the Fund had already received a large donation of duffel bags, Curcio Law immediately pivoted and focused on gathering the everyday essentials our foster youth truly need — toiletries, skin and hair care products, diapers, and so much more.

Their generosity was so abundant that we were able to share this love with the ALX Closet as well, supporting even more families across Alexandria. And when we met their team in person, they were just as warm, thoughtful, and community‑minded as their donation suggested.

Now, they’ve stepped up again as sponsors for our Retro Arcade Fundraiser. Their support keeps leveling up, and we’re so grateful to have them on our community leaderboard.

Curcio Law, thank you for being the kind of partners who don’t just drop a coin in — you stay in the game with us. Your support helps families feel seen, supported, and ready to take on the next level.

We’re so thankful for you.

A huge thank you to Burke & Herbert Mortgage for powering up The Fund as our Insert Coin Sponsor for our Retro Arcade Fundraiser at Continues on September 24!

Your support isn’t just a coin dropped into an arcade machine — it’s a real‑world power‑up for Alexandria’s kids and families. Because of you, we’re able to unlock new levels of support, boost families with the resources they need, and help kids feel like they’re stepping into a world where they can win.

Every partnership like yours adds another life, another chance, another bright moment for a child who deserves to feel seen and supported. You’re helping us build a community where kindness stays at the top of the leaderboard, and where every family gets the chance to level up.

We’re so grateful to have you in our arcade of champions. Thank you for playing such an important role in this mission — we couldn’t do it without you.

A huge thank you to Alexandria Toyota for being a Power‑Up Partner for this year’s Fund for Alexandria’s Retro Arcade Fundraiser!

For so many years, Alexandria Toyota has been one of the Fund’s most dedicated supporters — and we truly could not do this meaningful work without partners like them. Their generosity helps us stay in the race for Alexandria’s children and families, making sure they have the support, stability, and opportunities they deserve.

This partnership is something special. Year after year, Alexandria Toyota shows up for our community with heart, commitment, and a spirit of service that keeps us moving forward. We are deeply grateful for everything they do and honored to celebrate them as part of our event next week.

Thank you, Alexandria Toyota, for helping us cross the finish line for Alexandria’s kids. We appreciate you more than words can say!

There are partners… and then there are champions. Founded in 1992 by Sue Goodhart and her husband, Marty, the Goodhart Group has spent more than three decades building a legacy rooted in compassion, community, and heart.

Today, Sue and her daughter Allison Goodhart DuShuttle carry that legacy forward, leading their Compass team with the same warmth, dedication, and commitment to service that defined its beginning.

This extraordinary family and mother daughter team have shown up for Alexandria’s most vulnerable youth with unmatched heart, consistency, and generosity. Their Compass team approaches real estate with compassion and care — and they bring that same spirit to the Fund for Alexandria’s Child year after year.

As we prepare for this year’s fundraising event at Continues Arcade, we are honored to recognize them once again as our High Score Heroes. In everything they do — in business, in community, in partnership — they set the high score. Their long-standing commitment helps us provide stability, joy, and life-changing opportunities for children in foster care and families facing hardship right here in Alexandria.

Sue, Allison, and the entire Goodhart Group — thank you for always being at the top of our leaderboard, for showing up with heart, and for continuing to champion our kids and families. We are deeply grateful for your partnership, your generosity, and your belief in this mission. Your legacy of care continues to make a difference, one level at a time.

You truly are our High Score Heroes — year after year.

Some days, the kindness of our community takes our breath away.

Thanks to the generosity of Capital One in McLean, VA and Foster Love, the Fund for Alexandria’s Child received 35 brand‑new 20" Schwinn bikes and helmets for our foster youth. This incredible gift is already making a difference in ways that matter.

Before we even picked them up, 10 bikes had already been claimed by DCHS social workers for their kids. And today, something unforgettable happened.

A mom visited the ALX Closet on behalf of her family of ten — including eight children — after a devastating fire destroyed their home. They lost absolutely everything. She shared how hard it’s been for the kids, especially after losing all their toys and belongings.

When she learned we had bikes to give, her entire face lit up. She couldn’t stop smiling. She kept saying she couldn’t wait for her kids to see their bikes when she brought them home. In a moment filled with loss, you gave this family a reason to smile again.

Capital One and Foster Love, thank you for the joy you’ve brought to this family and to so many of our foster youth. These bikes will go quickly — and they will make a huge difference for every child who receives one.

Community love looks like this.
And today, it looked like bikes.
