🚨Please be cautious of outdated or inaccurate postings advertising shredding events. My office has been made aware of a social media account circulating information about a shredding event held last year and incorrectly claiming that it is happening this weekend.

My office is not hosting a shredding event this fall. However, we plan to partner with Crime Solvers this spring to offer a free community shredding event.

Once details are finalized, information will be shared on this page, in my newsletter and on the Mount Vernon District website. Please refer to these official channels for accurate, up-to-date information.

We had a great conversation yesterday at the Council for Economic Opportunity (CEO) meeting, which I chair, with special guest Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Carrie Chenery!

We discussed ways Fairfax County and the Commonwealth can work together to grow our economy, from supporting entrepreneurs and housing production to workforce development and stronger industry connections. Thank you, Secretary Chenery, for joining us as we continue working to create new opportunities for our businesses and residents!

I had the great opportunity to speak this morning at the Drinking Water Summit, hosted at Fairfax Water’s Griffith Water Treatment Plant in Lorton.

We heard from the Honorable David Bulova and several key regional partners about the importance of source water resilience and protecting our drinking water resources for the future.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some travel thousands of miles and run toward danger when others need help!

This summer, Virginia Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue deployed to Venezuela to support search and rescue efforts following devastating earthquakes. These highly trained first responders put themselves in challenging and dangerous conditions to help our neighbors in need around the world.

This morning, we recognized the team at the BOS meeting for their important work. We are incredibly proud of the members of USA-01 who answered the call and represented Fairfax County and Virginia through their skill, dedication and service.
