Today, on Law Enforcement Su***de Awareness Day, MAAWLE pauses to remember the officers we have lost, stand beside those who may be struggling, and remind every member of our law enforcement family of one simple truth:
You do not have to carry it alone.
The demands of this profession can take a tremendous toll. Behind the badge are human beings — people who experience trauma, grief, stress, exhaustion, and pain. Asking for help is not weakness. Reaching out can be one of the strongest things we do.
MAAWLE is committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of the women and men who serve our communities and one another. Check on your partners. Check on your friends. Pay attention when someone seems different. And if you are the one struggling, please give someone the opportunity to stand beside you.
Reach out to a trusted colleague, Peer Support Team, Employee Assistance Program, mental health professional, chaplain, or another resource available through your agency.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
No badge, rank, assignment, or uniform makes someone immune to struggling.
We are here. We see you. We support you. And you are never alone. 💙
