Celebrating 20 Years of Service to York County
Richard R. Dutremble, Chair of the York County Commissioners, Recognized by MCCA
🏆
After two decades of dedicated service, York County Commissioner Richard Dutremble is retiring from the York County Commission at the end of this year. This week, Commissioner Dutremble was recognized by the Maine County Commissioners Association (MCCA) for his 20 years of commitment to York County and to county government across Maine.

For 20 years, Commissioner Dutremble has brought his experience, perspective, and deep commitment to public service to the York County Commissioners. He has served as Chair of the York County Commissioners for several years and as President of the Maine County Commissioners Association in 2023–2024.

As Richard prepares to retire from the Commission, all of us at York County government want to take a moment to recognize not only the years of service represented by this plaque from MCCA, but also the countless meetings, conversations, decisions, challenges, and accomplishments behind it.

Twenty years is an extraordinary commitment to a community. Commissioner Dutremble’s leadership has helped shape York County, and his steady presence, thoughtful approach, and dedication to public service will be greatly missed.

Thank you, Commissioner Dutremble, for 20 years of service, leadership, and commitment to the people of York County. We are grateful for all you have given to our communities and wish you all the best in this next chapter!

We're hiring at the York County Regional Training Center! 📣🚨

The EMS Program Administrator will join the partnership at an important point of growth. Currently, EMS programming is delivered in partnership with Southern Maine Community College (SMCC), which serves as the established EMS Training Center. York County and YCCC are working toward developing a standalone EMS Training Center that will provide greater local capacity and support the long-term growth of EMS education in York County.

The successful candidate will play an active role in this transition and will not be expected to enter the position with expertise in every aspect of training center administration, accreditation, or higher education. YCCC will provide institutional support, resources, and mentorship to help the Program Administrator build this expertise and grow professionally alongside the program.

We are seeking someone who is collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and excited by the opportunity to help build something new. The ideal candidate is invested in developing a skilled, educated, adaptable, and workforce-ready EMS workforce while helping shape the future of EMS education in York County.

With support through mentorship, the EMS Program Administrator will provide leadership and oversight for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) initial licensure education delivered through the York County Regional Training Center (RTC) in partnership with York County Community College (YCCC). The position is responsible for program quality, regulatory and accreditation compliance, curriculum, instructor oversight, student progression, clinical and field education, program assessment, and continuous improvement.

Strengthening emergency preparedness through practice and collaboration.

York County emergency response partners recently participated in a hurricane exercise scenario designed to test and strengthen emergency response skills, coordination, and communication.

Exercises like this provide an important opportunity for agencies and partners to evaluate response procedures, identify areas for improvement, and build the relationships and readiness needed to support our communities during an emergency.

Preparedness is an ongoing process—and effective response begins long before a disaster occurs.
