The intent of these workshops is to discuss the draft emerging walking, biking, and rolling network and your active transportation priorities.

Today we had three drivers out unexpectedly, and one of our Dispatchers as well. This did impact on-time performance and overall service delivery, but we appreciate everyone's patience with us. When drivers have emergencies and have to call in, we cannot easily move trips onto routes that are already full. In these situations, we try our best to keep communication open with passengers. If you ever have questions about your pick-up window or are experiencing delays, you can check your trip in real-time on the Allegan County Transportation app, or call our offices at (269) 673-4229. The Allegan County Food Pantry in Allegan will be closing at the end of the day Friday, October 2nd. If you need alternative pantry locations, visit this website containing a list of alternative options. For transportation assistance call ACT at (269) 672-4229.

With heavy hearts, and after much thought and careful consideration, we share the difficult news that our Board of Directors has made the decision to permanently close the food pantry.

Our final day of service will be Friday, October 2, 2026.

This has not been an easy decision. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our pantry, volunteered their time, donated, and trusted us to be a part of their lives. It has been an honor to serve our community and to walk alongside so many neighbors over the years.

While we may be closing our doors, we know the need for food assistance continues. If you or someone you know is in need of support, please dial 211. They can help connect you with food pantries and other resources in your area that are currently available.

Last week,, our Allegan County Transportation bus was in the Allegan County Fair Parade with Wishbone Pet Rescue Partnered with Allegan County Animal Shelter. As we approached the Fairgrounds, a bystander enthusiastically yelled out to our driver, "You guys are the real heroes!"

It was a heartfelt moment that made the driver pause. The gratitude he felt in that moment was enormous, and something he kept with him throughout the week when sharing the story with others. Our drivers and dispatchers truly appreciate these moments. Providing public transportation to such a large county is a challenging feat - we have over 20 drivers on the road almost daily, providing service from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, to all corners of the county. Our drivers traverse all Michigan weather conditions, as well as traffic, road construction, and deer (really, deer is deserving of its own category). Our Dispatchers and operations team members never falter in providing coverage to ensure the best level of service for passengers calling or community members visiting our facility.
