Can I register in person at the event?
No! New last year, registration is 100% online! No walk ins will be accepted!
What date/time is the dice run?
Saturday September 19th. Registration opens at 9am, closes at 1pm and everyone needs to be back to the department by 5pm!
**Even though you've registered online you'll have to stop at the registration table to get your wristbands and sign the insurance waiver! This line should move quickly as there will be a large crew of people working it, no divided lines anymore because registration was all done online!
Do i need to print my ticket?
Printing your ticket is the fastest, easiest way. But at the very least a screenshot of your ticket can be shown.
Are side by sides welcome?
Yes, and ATVs and dirt bikes too!
Is my side by side too wide?
weve had machines 67" wide use the trail and haven't heard of any issues!
Where do i park?
When you enter Knapp creek there will be signs directing you to parking areas. We primarily use barse tract rd and nichols run rd for parking!
Do I need a helmet?
Yes! We have been doing this run for 14 years, you've always needed a helmet!
Do I need eye protection?
Yes! Eye protection can include a helmet visor,goggles, sunglasses or eyeglasses!
Do I need brakes?
Yes! working brakes on your machine are required and definitely needed as our trail has a lot of up and down hill sections.
Can my 9 year old ride their own machine?
No, drivers must be at least 12 and able to reach the foot pegs and handlebars at the same time. They must also be experienced at riding their machine. Your 9 year old is welcome to ride as a passenger on your machine as long as they have their ticket.
Does my kid need a ticket?
Yes! Every rider needs a ticket, regardless of age. Children 11 and under are free, but they still need the ticket so we have their info for insurance purposes.
Can I use my debit card for food and tshirts?
No! This is a cash only event as the service and internet in knapp creek are unreliable for card payments.
What do I need cash for?
Food/water/pop, chicken bbqs not bought online, tshirts/hoodies, raffles
What food is available?
*The firehall kitchen is ran by the town of olean fire dept and they will have chicken bbqs (only 125 left to buy), burgers, hotdogs, pop, water, chips available for purchase!
*The trail kitchen is ran by Knapp creek fire and will have hotdogs, chips, pop, water and candy available for purchase!
Is there camping?
The fire department doesnt offer camping as we have no where to park them. There are a few campgrounds within a half hour. Allegany State Park and Riverhurst in Westons Mills offer camping. Mystic waters resort in limestone has cabins and campsites. There are also a few air bnbs around as well as hotels in bradford, pa and olean,NY.
Are these just lease road trails?
No! 95% of this trail is wooded. It's a fun ride with a couple steep uphill/downhill sections. A couple tricky areas but nothing that should be impassable. Winches are not needed. Its roughly 28 miles long and takes just over 3 hours to ride without any stops.
Can I ride this trail anytime of the year?
No, a good majority of our trail is privately owned. We have to ask for landowner permission to use it for the day. After that, it is posted and anyone on it will be considered trespassing. It gets harder every year to get permission so please respect the landowners!!
Who does this benefit?
This is our main fundraiser to keep Knapp Creek Fire and Knapp Creek EMS running! We appreciate everyone coming out for this event and supporting us!
🚨🚨NO leaving the trail and NO littering. Please respect the landowners property...and us that have to go through the following day and clean up all the garbage!
