🚗🌫️ It is extremely foggy outside today so please turn your headlights ON 💡💡

A quick reminder from AFD! Automatic headlights don’t always turn on your taillights in foggy conditions!

🌫️ Turn on your headlights manually.
🚘 Make sure your taillights are on, too.
👀 Slow down and increase your following distance.
💡 Make yourself visible so others can see you!

See and be seen! A simple switch can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe on the road.

🚒🚑 Our future is looking bright! 🚨

Our AFD firefighter and EMS cadets are training right alongside us, learning the skills and gaining the experience they need to serve our community. We’re proud to help guide the next generation of first responders because they are our future!

We are fortunate to have 10 dedicated cadets on our roster. If you know of any teens between the ages of 14-21 interested in learning how to serve our community, have them contact us or stop at the station any Wednesday evening between 6:30 - 9pm to see firsthand what it’s all about.

🚒🚜🌽🐄THANK YOU FARMERS 🐄🌽🚜🚒

Between working the fields, caring for livestock, and answering the call when our community needs them, these members wear many hats! We appreciate the time, dedication, and sacrifices they make both on the farm and with AFD!

🔥 Fire Prevention Tip: Stay Safe as the Weather Gets Colder! 🏠

As you reach for space heaters to stay warm, remember a few important safety tips:

♨️ Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn, including furniture, curtains, and blankets.

🔌 Plug space heaters directly into a wall outlet — never into a power strip or surge protector.

⚡ Avoid overloading surge strips and outlets with too many devices. Overloaded circuits can overheat and cause a fire.

🚫 Turn off space heaters when leaving the room or going to bed.

❤️ A few simple precautions can help keep your family and home safe this season!

Stay warm, stay safe, and prevent fires! 🚒

🚒🔥 We LOVE teaching fire prevention to our elementary students! Seeing their excitement, curiosity, and smiles makes it so much fun. We also enjoyed the conversations while eating lunch with the students.

Teaching fire safety today helps build safer communities tomorrow! 🧯👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

➡️ Special shout out to Mark, Mike, Nate, Dave & Tim for taking the day off work to teach our youth about fire safety.
