There were over 140 local educators and child care providers at the professional development session we led for the United Way of Berks County this week.

As part of our commitment to high-quality early childhood education, we recently hosted a free professional development session for local educators and child care providers.

Led by Kayla Rhein, M.Ed., BCBA, LBS and Debbie Madera, M.Ed., BCBA, LBS, LBA of Easterseals Eastern PA, the training introduced six practical activities for children ages 2–5 that support sensory processing, communication, social-emotional development, fine motor skills, and cognitive growth.

Participants left with easy-to-implement strategies that can be used across a variety of classroom settings to help young children learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you to our presenters and participants!

The adults in our Community Supports program had a wonderful time on their annual visit to Unangst Tree Farm. The day included a hayride, pumpkin picking, feeding farm animals, exploring the corn maze, browsing the general store, and sharing a picnic lunch together.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of sponsoring the 23rd Annual Autism Society of Berks County's Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance. Despite the rainy weather, there was a fabulous crowd and we had a wonderful time catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, and making connections within our community.

United Way of Berks County kicked off their campaign this morning followed by the Day of Caring. Volunteers from Alcon came to our outpatient center to re-landscape the front of the building and prepare the play area for a new season of Club Curious. We simply could not do what we do without support from United Way of Berks County. When you give to the United Way, you support our mission and our community.
