America is not just a place, it is an idea. Our nation was founded on a set of principles: equality, personal liberty, and unbounded optimism. On this Independence Day, let’s remember that what makes us Americans is our devotion to freedom and our undying belief that the world can be made better.

As you might know, I am considering running for the PA 7 Congressional seat. I have formed an exploratory committee and am in the process of researching my options. I am interested in the opinions of people in the district.

Had a great week in Washington DC! Spent time with the Congressman of the district where my business is located, Congressman Dan Meuser. Also enjoyed meeting Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (pictured with me and Heidi Brock, President of the Aluminum Assocation) and also with House Minority Leader, California Congressman Kevin McCarthy.

When over nearly $750,000,000 in debt service, paid for by Lehigh County Taxpayers gets you NOTHING! Except lawsuits costing even more money. Allentown blew 125% of its entire legal budget for 2018 on this issue. It was, is, and will be a bad deal for everyone.
Your View from a former county commissioner: Lessons from the Allentown water controversies
Allentown's lease of its water system to the Lehigh County Authority was a debacle that lead to lawsuits, higher rates for customers and could have been avoided.

I'm so proud to be be associated with all of these candidates! One correction - Ar Amanda Holt's interview, she said that, at that time "she was not inclined" to run for office after her appointment expired. She never said that she would not run. And in fact, she has been an exceptional Commissioner. And I should know.

Lisa Scheller: How to reform Lehigh County's pension plan
Many people think that pension reform must start at the state level, with the passage of the type of bill that would allow the state and counties to move to defined-contribution, or 401(k)-type, plans for public employees. But there are several things that we can do right here in Lehigh County right...

Could this be the new symbol of the Republican party?
02/11/2012
On Wednesday, February 8th, the Lehigh County Board of Commissioner voted overwhelmingly (8-1) and bipartisanly to authorize the County Executive to move forward with the reassessment of county properties for the first time in 21 years. This vote overrode the Executive's veto of an unanomous vote 2 weeks ago. There has been plenty in the news about this and the issue has been muddied. However, I feel it is in the best interest of all of the citizens of Lehigh County for the reassessment to occur.

Welcome to the world of elected officials. On Wednesday night, I voted for ordinances that I felt were appropriate.. they were also state constitutional mandates. And today... I'm being called names by commenters in the paper. I must be doing something right.

It was a good night. Now its time to double the effort and deliver what I and the Reform Team promised.
