🚒🔥 October is Fire Prevention Month! 🔥🚒

South Whitehall Township’s three fire stations - Woodlawn Fire Department, Cetronia Volunteer Fire Department, and Greenawalds Fire/Rescue 11 kicked off our fire prevention visits on Tuesday at Cetronia Elementary School!

We’re looking forward to visiting Kratzer Elementary School and Parkway Manor Elementary School as well this week, along with many other locations for presentations throughout the month.

Our volunteers will dedicate at least half of the days in October to educating children in our community about fire prevention and safety. That’s countless hours spent helping our youngest neighbors learn important skills to keep themselves and their families safe! ❤️

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and the schools and organizations welcoming us this month!

🚨Press Release🚨

Earlier today Spill 32 and Traffic 32 responded to this incident as part of the South Whitehall Township Rescue Assignment.

Below is the press release from Chief 3

08/14/2026

Yesterday just after 1800 hours, Station 32 along with Stations 3, 11, and 26 were dispatched to the 4000 block of Wedgewood Road for an automatic fire alarm. While responding, Chief 32 was advised by Lehigh County Radio that the assignment was being upgraded after receiving multiple calls reporting a house on fire. The dwelling fire upgrade added Stations 2, 5, 31, and 56 to the box.

Chief 32 arrived on scene just under 3 minutes from dispatch with fire showing from the roof. Engine 11 (Greenawalds) arrived shortly after as the first-due engine, stretching an attack line to initiate fire attack. Engine Tanker 32 arrived next and immediately began supplying Engine 11 with water. Due to the Springhouse Farms neighborhood lacking hydrants, additional tankers were requested, bringing in Stations 16 and 22.

Crews operated on scene for just under two hours before bringing the fire under control.
The cause remains under investigation.
