Today, the Salisbury Township Police Department and the Allentown Police Department conducted a joint traffic‑safety enforcement detail along both West and East Susquehanna Street. The operation began outside Roosevelt Elementary School, where officers focused on adult drivers transporting elementary‑aged children who were not properly restrained. Several citations were issued, including one involving a child who was kneeling on the front passenger seat and pressed against the dashboard while the vehicle was in motion. Ensuring proper child‑restraint use remains a top priority for both departments.
After concluding school‑zone enforcement, officers shifted their attention to speed enforcement on East Susquehanna Street, an area selected in response to numerous community complaints about unsafe driving. Approximately 30 speeding citations were issued with a top speed of 65 mph in the posted 35 mph speed zone.
Our department will continue these proactive initiatives and will soon conduct additional enforcement along East Emmaus Avenue. We thank the Allentown Police Department for their continued partnership and dedication.
Please drive safely!

Congratulations to Officer Jason Laky on his retirement. Serving Salisbury Township for a total of 29 years. Jason initiated our first K-9 program and handled 3 dogs prior to becoming a master trainer. He assumed the role of SRO at Salisbury Middle School later in his career along with coaching baseball and basketball. He helped initiate many programs that excelled our department into what it is today. All members of our department would like to wish Officer Laky a long and relaxing retirement from law enforcement. We wish you and your family the best in the future. Thank you for your service.

🎶 This evening two gentlemen from a neighboring city decided to stop by Salisbury Township to pay us a visit. Turns out they’re also now paying a fine. We encourage everyone to enjoy our parks but blatant disruptive behavior that affects our residents will not be tolerated. Feel free to share this post to get the word out.
