That's not just wasting water,

A simple sprinkler spruce-up can solve both problems.

Better yet, abandon the notion of unnaturally green grass all season long.

Either embrace a brown, dormant lawn (it's a natural defense mechanism during a drought - it will green up when the rain returns), or replace your thirsty lawn altogether with a sustainable space filled with ๐ŸŒธ native plants. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ On todayโ€™s episode of โ€œPlease Donโ€™t Flush Thatโ€: This is a photo of material pulled from our equipment used in the wastewater treatment process. It includes wipes, cloth and other items that should never go down the toilet.

Wipes, rags, paper towels and hygiene products can collect, twist together, clog equipment and create expensive problems for the crews keeping wastewater moving.

Please help us out:

Flush toilet paper only. ๐Ÿงป

Everything else goes in the trash. ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

This Fishing Season, Help Keep Our Shared Waterways Clean | Lehigh County Authority 06/10/2026

Heading out to fish this season? Help protect the waterways we all share.

Fishing line, hooks, bait containers and other trash can seriously harm wildlife, pets and people. Please use disposal receptacles when available, pack out what you bring in, and pick up any litter you safely can.

A cleaner shoreline means healthier waterways for everyone.

๐Ÿšซ This is why wipes donโ€™t belong in the toilet. ๐Ÿšซ

What youโ€™re looking at is a massive bundle of wipes removed from equipment at our wastewater treatment plant.

Despite being labeled โ€œflushable,โ€ wipes do not break down like toilet paper. Instead, they tangle together with grease, debris, and other materials in the sewer system. Over time, they can clog pipes, damage pumps, cause sewer backups, and create costly maintenance problems.

This single mass had to be physically removed from our equipment before it could cause even bigger issues.

The only things that should be flushed are:
โœ… Human waste
โœ… Toilet paper

A simple choice at home can help protect our sewer system, prevent backups, and save money on repairs.

When it comes to wipes, donโ€™t flush them. Trash them.
