Have you ever wondered why trauma affects both the mind and the body?

The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk explores how trauma impacts the brain and body, helping readers better understand the lasting effects of abuse and the pathways toward healing.

For survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse, this book offers valuable insight into how trauma can shape emotions, physical responses, and daily lifeโ€”while also highlighting the importance of compassionate, trauma-informed healing practices.

Understanding trauma is a powerful step toward healing. Whether you are on your own healing journey or supporting someone else, this book is a meaningful resource for learning how the body holds trauma and how recovery is possible.

Self-care is more than relaxationโ€”itโ€™s a way to help the mind and body heal from trauma.

After experiencing abuse, survivors may feel disconnected from their bodies or overwhelmed by stress responses. Mind-body self-care practices such as yoga, grounding exercises, journaling, and adequate rest can help restore connection, strengthen resilience, and support recovery.

Healing happens one step at a time, and caring for your body is part of reclaiming your strength.
