This is Amber (class of '20) and I'm reaching out because Muhlenberg Elementary, where I teach, is in need of a new laminator and I have organized a DonorsChoose project so that we can get a new one. I just set up the project today and we have through August for it to get funded, but this Thursday DonorsChoose is matching donations to schools that have historically been most underfunded, so all Allentown SD schools qualify. I know that Muhlenberg College and Muhlenberg Elementary have a long history of working together, so I just wanted to pass this along so that you can share with family, friends, coworkers, and even students, such as if the Ed Society is able to help contribute in any way.
Also for the next 7 days, donors can use the promo code LIFTOFF at checkout to double their donations up to $50, but like I said, our project will be open until August.? The link is below. Any contribution is much appreciated!

From one of our own, Megan Famularo, Class of 2017 (Grade 5 Teacher at Muhlenberg Elementary School):
"Over the past 6 years, we as a school at Muhlenberg Elementary have been trying to raise money for new playground equipment. The equipment we currently have is beginning to become unsafe and is at least 30 years old. We have done fundraising through the school with student council, school stores, etc. We are currently at approx. $26,000. This has taken a long time. State laws have changed how this money can be handled, now making it a "use it this year- or lose it" situation.
As a Muhlenberg and Education program Alumni, I am reaching out to you to see if there is any way that you can and would be willing to help. This playground is used by members of the community beyond our school population. We want to strengthen the pride of our little west end school, district, and surrounding Allentown community. We also want to create a safe place where children can get physical activity, play, and create friendships.
Our goal is to raise approx. $20,000 more dollars. While I know that sounds like a lot of money, I have faith that we as a community can reach this goal. Please let me know if the Education Department of Muhlenberg College would be willing to contribute to this playground fund for Muhlenberg Elementary School!
Thank you so much for your time and any help or direction you can offer!"

Uninterrupted: Avoiding (and Overcoming) Burnout Within Education
This is more than a "feel good, be happy, you can do it" presentation. In this virtual event, we will cover the primary factors that, if left unattended, will lead to burnout among K-12 teachers and administrators. A significant body of research has emerged that demonstrates burnout is neither inevitable nor unsolvable. We will explore what leads to uninterrupted success and strategize specific strategies to consider ways to regain your edge.
