The City of Alliance staff and community would like to wish Troy Shoemaker all the best on his final day as the Alliance Fire Chief. Our state is lucky to have him as the new Assistant State Fire Marshall.

Troy joined the City of Alliance in 2008, returning to his hometown to serve as Fire Chief. Although this was his first official role with the department, he often says his connection began at age 2, when his father was a member of the Alliance Fire Department. Knowing from a young age that he wanted to become a firefighter, Troy served our country in the U.S. Navy before returning to the Panhandle to join the Scottsbluff Fire Department. When the Alliance Fire Chief position opened in 2008, he welcomed the opportunity to serve his hometown.

Under Troy’s leadership, the department has grown through strong community partnerships and support for its volunteers. His leadership, together with the volunteers’ unwavering dedication, has provided an invaluable resource to Alliance and the surrounding area. City of Alliance staff again wish Chief Troy Shoemaker all the best in his new role.

The City of Alliance is inviting the community to attend a reception at the Alliance Fire Hall next Tuesday, September 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, to thank Chief Troy Shoemaker for his 18 years of service to the Alliance Community! Chief Shoemaker was selected as the new Assistant State Fire Marshal and will begin those duties in Lincoln, Ne in October.

Chief Shoemaker has served the panhandle for many years, first with the Scottsbluff Fire Department and then as the Fire Chief for the City of Alliance. Throughout his tenure in Alliance, Troy’s leadership has guided both career staff and volunteer firefighters in their shared commitment to keeping Alliance, and the surrounding areas safe.

Please join us as we thank Chief Shoemaker for his dedication and service to the City of Alliance and wish him all the best in his new position.

I want to take a couple of seconds and recognize two of our members for reaching an amazing milestone.

Congratulations to Fire Apparatus Engineer/AEMT Nick Hinman and Firefighter/EMT Elijah Budd for passing your National Registry test for Paramedic.

Your long hours, sleepless nights and what seemed to be endless studies and classes has paid off.

We are all so proud of the two of you. Keep up the great work!

Chief Shoemaker
